London Pound Cake Terpene Strain Profile | Get to Know Your Favorite Strain

The London Pound Cake strain is relaxing, euphoric, and has a pâtisserie-esque aroma that’s both sweet and indulgent. Discover the terpenes that make all of this possible.

If you’ve ever doubted whether a cannabis strain actually smells or tastes like its name, London Pound Cake doesn’t disappoint. Bred by Cookies Fam, this cultivar is just as delicious as its namesake and packs a heavy dose of chill-inducing effects. And as a cross between Sunset Sherbert and an unknown heavy-hitting strain, none of this is surprising.

In a High Times interview, Cookies Fam co-founder and CEO Berner said, “Some of our most popular new strains are the London Poundcakes. Those are amazing….it’s got a really nice blueberry funk, silky cherry pie vibe. It’s so good, bro.” That’s why we analyzed the finest flowers when we crafted our Native Series London Pound Cake Terpene Profile.

Before jumping in too deep, we want to remind everyone that we offer both botanical and cannabis-derived terpenes. We work hard to isolate the specific terpene profiles of popular cultivars so both cannabis and non-cannabis consumers can enjoy and benefit from them.

Read on and discover the terpenes that give London Pound Cake its pâtisserie-esque aroma and flavor.

London Pound Cake Terpene Strain Profile

The London Pound Cake aroma has all the berry goodness of its Sunset Sherbert genetics. The transformative nature of its aroma and flavor is what really keeps people coming back though. The sweet berry aromas hit you first followed by bright notes of citrus. Then earthy elements reminiscent of nuts or dough set in, followed by a delectably sour aftertaste.

None of that would be possible, however, without dominant terpenes d-Limonene, beta-Myrcene, and beta-Caryophyllene.

The terpene isolate d-Limonene is often associated with citrus-forward aromas since it’s commonly found in fruits like lemons, limes, grapefruits, oranges, etc. On its own, it’s sweet and sour and is known for effects like mood elevation and euphoria.

Another particularly common terpene isolate, beta-Myrcene, infuses the London Pound Cake terpene profile with another dose of sweetness and its exotic aroma. Found in a wide variety of plants from mangoes and lemongrass to thyme and basil, it smells profoundly earthy and woody with distinct notes of cloves, cardamom, fruit, and musk. It’s also known to promote effects like sedation, which play an important role in the relaxing effects of London Pound Cake.

The complex earthy notes of this terpene profile partially have beta-Caryophyllene to thank. This spicy isolate is found in plants like black pepper, cloves, hops, and even cinnamon and contributes to the potent body relaxation London Pound Cake is known for.

While there are over thirty other isolates that make up this complex blend, these three are some of the main contributors to its unique flavor, aroma, and effects. Speaking of effects…

London Pound Cake Terpene Strain Profile Effects

As we mentioned before, we craft both botanical and cannabis-derived terpene profiles. That means everyone, regardless of whether they choose to use cannabis products, can enjoy them. However, it’s important to note that something really interesting happens when you combine terpenes and cannabis

It helps to think of terpenes like a steering wheel and psychoactive cannabinoids, like THC, as the fuel that makes your car actually go. Terpenes are what dictate the direction (or effects), and cannabinoids are what determine how quickly and powerfully you’ll experience those effects. So, without terpenes, you won’t experience the variety of flavors or the subtle nuances of effects that different strains have.

That’s why two cultivars with the exact same cannabinoid levels may have different effects. One may promote stimulation and make you want to clean your entire house, while the other may be more sedating and give you couch lock. Bottom line? If you love how London Pound Cake makes you feel, you can thank the beautiful combination of terpenes and cannabinoids.

If you utilize terms like Indica and Sativa, London Pound would fall into the Hybrid category. Think of the effects like eating a luscious piece of actual Lemon Pound Cake as an afternoon treat after a long day of work. It’s sweet and relaxing, while the bright flavors put an immediate smile on your face. Basically, it’s an experience that’s all about positive vibes and relaxation.

Stress melts away as a feeling of sleepy joy takes over. While combining this terpene strain profile with high amounts of psychoactive cannabinoids may promote couch lock, it’s also a phenomenal addition to any carefree afternoon where unwinding and perhaps indulging in the munchies is in order.

How Can YOU Use London Pound Cake Native Series Terpene Profile

Considering how absolutely mouthwatering this strain smells and tastes, it’s hard not to immediately recommend adding this terpene profile to a wide variety of food and beverage products. Now, don’t get us wrong. You absolutely SHOULD consider doing that. However, we think its applications are much more versatile than that.

Distillate

Infusing distillate with terpenes is one of the easiest, most cost-effective ways to add aroma, flavor, and effects to various products. So, if your consumers are interested in the flavor, aroma, or effects of London Pound Cake, this is an efficient way to get started.

Personal Care Products

The relaxing, sedating properties of this terpene profile would be a welcome addition to calming products like lotions, soaps, or even room sprays. Plus, who doesn’t want a body wash or shampoo that smells like a sweet patisserie treat?

Edibles

Edibles infused with the London Pound Cake terpene profile are the perfect option for cannabis consumers looking for products that help elevate mood and relax their bodies without using inhalable products.

This is not, by any means, a complete list. Basically, any product that’s designed to promote relaxation, happy vibes, or even sedation would be a GREAT candidate for this blend.
