As a cross between bright Citral #13 and earthy Ice #2, Papaya is undeniably fruity and uniquely woody. In the words of Nirvana Seeds, “The best way to describe her aroma is to imagine a fruit cocktail combined with sweet fruity syrup with a touch of pepper and flowers…. the taste is rich, powerful, and similar to a smokey, creamy, fresh fruit and spice combination.”¹

For example, it contained several highly coveted tropicannasulfurs including 3-mercaptohexanol (3MH), 3-mercaptohexyl acetate (3MHA), and 3-mercaptohexyl butyrate (3MHB).² Basically, this strain has a lot of compounds contributing to its juicy, tropical aroma.

   

3. Super Boof

The name might give you pause, but Super Boof is undeniably delicious. It was Leafly’s 2024 Strain of the Year, it’s descended from Black Cherry Punch and Tropicana Cookies, and it’s a member of the same gas category as 24K Gold. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that Super Boof is fruit-forward, sweet, and citrusy. 

Think tropical citrus with a mild sour twist, sweet berries, and a grounding diesel aroma that’s both dank and floral. As a cross between Trainwreck and Hawaiian, Pineapple Express has noticeable elements of vibrant tropical fruit, juicy citrus, and a subtle earthy finish. Despite its mysterious origins, Tropic Thunder is a beloved cultivar widely celebrated for its complexity. Some pick up on notes of mango, pineapple, and citrus, and the vibrancy of these aromas only seems to shine brighter next to subtle earthy wood.
